Why doesn't White play like that now, instead of his torturous-desperate-to-make-sure-of-absolutely-every-pot approach, with his horrible altered bridge hand etc? Okay, he's getting on a bit, might not be quite as quick, but if only he'd watch some of these videos and remember how he used to hit the ball, how he used to bridge, etc.

First 2 games, what a huge level diffrence , Lee is on another class. He dominates, makes harder balls, control the white better. He is just giving 50% when rayen day gives 100% and still hardly keeps up. Angry at Lee for the disrespect and low focous. Just imagine he had not have the betting scandal. Stephen Lee was probably one of the best players I’ve seen and people knew that … for him to play bad in spells it was just to obvious that he was blatant fixing.. but what I don’t get is he could of made enough money by just winning tournaments he was good enough to do that..

I have watched all of the claimed fixed games and to be honest there is nothing that jumps out and says this frame is fixed, this particular frame was very scrappy but it is the first frame and players need to settle into the game and there is also the pressure of winning the opening frame. To find a player guilty of match fixing purely on someones opinion is not a safe conviction IMO especially when there is no evidence of strange betting patterns in any of the alleged frames, and then to give him a 12 year ban on someones opinion when Higgins agreed on camera to fix frames and then more or less is given a slap on the hands compared to Lee's case is outrageous IMO, a mans career ruined on very flimsy evidence!

I was a big snooker fan when I was a kid in the 80s but I do not remember this match. I remember Alex losing an 8-5 lead to Dennis Taylor in the 87 masters final

In the very 1st frame after Steve broke off, Alex went for a wild long pot in which he missed. Steve cleared the table with a tremendous break of 137. 5 blues to start. And the remaining 10 were blacks after. I knew after watching Steve compile the tremendous 137 break to 0 in frame 1 that he was going to beat Alex. I wanted Alex to win. And Alex Played brilliantly to lead Alain Robidoux 8_1. Alex slipped and won aventualy 9_7 in his semi final Steve beat Dennis 9_1 in the other semi. I remember watching that semi from start to finish on BBC 2. Alex was on BBC 1. Steve looked immortal against Dennis. Breaks of 49, 54, 58 and 60. Won Steve that semi. Any long pot Dennis left Steve was soon potted no problem. Steve,s long potting was so very good then. He never seemed to miss long pots.
